PuntagordaDeze pagina in Nederlands
Puntagorda is the smallest district on the island, with around 2000 inhabitants.
It is also considered, by many, to be the most beautiful part of the island.
The steep cliffs of the costal area are designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The area below the village has an old church and quiet agricultural scenery.
Puntagorda is a village with 2 main centers: El Pino en El Pinar, they are connected by the (unexpectedly) wide Avenida (Avenue), there is a new church, post office, dispensing chemist, small library, 3 restaurants, 3 supermarkets, several bars, a cafe, a medical center, dentist, old peoples home, and 2 internet cafes. There are a few shops including d-i-y, tourist shops, bazaar, barber, organic produce etc etc.
There is a farmers market every weekend. Mercadillo de Puntagorda
The website for the Puntagorda council is at Ayuntamiento de Puntagorda and incudes a tourist section in English

Puntagorda is a popular location for walkers and hikers and people seeking the peace and quiet of a small country village. There are around 40 holiday homes in the area around Puntagorda, some of which can be found at and an excellent Pension.
